About Colourise
Colourise is a daily colour-guessing game. Each day there's one hidden colour. You read clues like “A rubber duck” or “Pikachu”, mix your guess with a colour picker and see how close you can get.
How it works
- One colour a day. Everyone gets the same colour, and a new one arrives at midnight.
- Clues are things you know. Every colour has four clues, all that exact shade: something from nature, food, everyday objects, brands or characters. You start with one and reveal more when you want.
- Mix your guess. Use the colour square and the hue, saturation and brightness bars. You get three guesses, and after each one you're told what to adjust.
- Score out of 100. Your score is how close your best guess was. Get close enough that the colours look identical and you score a Perfect.
More ways to play
- Practice: play as many colours as you like.
- Blitz: 60 seconds, one guess per colour, and every Perfect adds time.
- Reverse: see a colour and pick the clue that matches it.
Along the way you can fill your paint wall with every colour you find, earn badges and keep a daily streak.
How closeness is measured
Colourise compares colours using ΔE (delta E) in the CIELAB colour space, a standard way of measuring how different two colours look to people. A Perfect means a difference of 5 or less, which is too close to tell apart on most screens. Every screen shows colour a little differently, so treat the scores as a friendly guide rather than a lab result.
Who makes it
Colourise is made in Singapore 🇸🇬 by an independent developer. It's a small project, so feedback, clue ideas and bug reports are very welcome on the contact page.
